Former Auburn, Ark. State RB Dyer seeks new chance
LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Former Auburn and Arkansas State running back Michael Dyer says he is hopeful that a third university will give him a chance to play football.
Dyer has earned a two-year degree and tells ESPN that he wants to play college ball rather than enter the NFL supplemental draft. He says he wants to clear his name after drug- and weapon-related run-ins.
He has two years of eligibility left.
A relative told ESPN there is some interest at Illinois State, Troy and Western Kentucky, which is coached by former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
