Former Lavaca teacher acquitted on sexual indecency charges
FORT SMITH (KATV) - A former Lavaca teacher accused of sexual indecency with a child was acquitted Thursday.
A jury found Jack James not guilty on seven of eight counts but couldn't decide on the final charge. He was accused of attempted sexual indecency with a child, sexual assault and harassment.
In November 2012, James was found guilty on three counts of attempted sexual indecency with a child and one count of harassment.
Police say the alleged offenses happened during the 2011-12 school year.
