LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Former U.S. Rep. Mike Ross is formally announcing his bid to seek the Democratic nomination for governor next year.
Ross is set to launch his bid for governor on Wednesday in his hometown of Prescott, followed by a statewide tour that will end at the state Capitol in Little Rock.
Ross last year had said he wouldn't run for governor, but reconsidered after Attorney General Dustin McDaniel dropped out of the race in January over questions about an extramarital relationship. Former Lt. Gov. Bill Halter is also seeking the Democratic nomination.
Former U.S. Rep. Asa Hutchinson and Little Rock businessman Curtis Coleman are seeking the Republican nomination. Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe is term-limited and cannot run for re-election next year.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
