Fund set up for kids of woman killed in EZ Mart Robbery
NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Community members are coming together to help the sons of a woman killed during an attempted robbery in September.
Akiya Egeston's sons are players for Life CHAMPS.
Director, Jordan Bone says, "The coaches of these two boys have done a tremendous job in providing various forms of support to this family and we have been told that playing football has made an incredible impact on their lives."
Life CHAMPS also wants to give back financially. A fund has been set up to help assist the family with financial support and funeral costs during this time of need. The fund is called the Akiya Egeston Love Fund and has been set up at Delta Trust and Bank. Donations can be made in person at any Delta Trust and Bank location, by phone using a debit card by calling 501-907-2280, or by transferring funds from any existing Delta Trust and Bank account.
Bone says, "Thank you for considering helping out this family in need and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time."
Surveillance video showed three suspects involved in the robbery-homicide on Saturday, September 22. Police said after robbing the store in the 3600 block of MacArthur, one suspect walked back in and shot 29-year old Akiya Egeston, killing her instantly.
