BENTONVILLE (AP) - The Walton Family Foundation has donated a matching grant of $10 million for a planned family museum to be built near Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
Leaders with the Amazeum announced Tuesday a $28.5 million fundraising campaign for the new 44,500-square-foot museum in Bentonville. Along with the 1:1 matching grant from the Walton Family Foundation, the museum also received land for the project from the foundation's Rob and Melani Walton Fund.
The Amazeum will include interactive exhibits like a Tinkering Studio, water area, climbable tree canopy and an exploratory wet lab.
The museum will be built on Northeast J Street near Crystal Bridges, which was created by Alice Walton.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
