PINE BLUFF (KATV) - A 107-year-old Jefferson County man was laid to rest Saturday after being shot to death by a SWAT team.
Monroe Isadore's funeral began at 3 p.m. and was held at the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. The community gathered to say their last goodbyes to Isadore who was killed in a shoot out in his home a week before the funeral.
One man who knew Monroe Isadore well tells that the city of pine bluff has lost a treasure.
According to Pine Bluff police, they tried using a camera, negotiating tactics and gas before shooting Isadore, but the shooting has prompted questions from residents and some city leaders in the community.
Those who knew Isadore well say the violent in which he died is not a reflection of how he lived.
Isadore's survivors include three sons, seven daughters, 27 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren.
