LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas first lady Ginger Beebe is to help kick off a summer meals program for children.

A 10 a.m. Wednesday event is set for the Dream Center on Daisy Bates Drive in Little Rock.

The state Department of Human Services along and multiple agencies are organizing the feeding program.

The U.S. Agriculture Department offers free summer meals to children 18 and under. Organizers are trying to attract more interest among families. A study shows that only about 14% of children who receive free or reduced-price lunches during the school year go to the summer meal centers.
