HOT SPRINGS (AP) - An unfriendly billy goat found wandering near the Hot Springs Convention Center appears to have been stolen from an animal shelter.
The goat was picked up by animal services last month and taken to the shelter, where officials say it was taken by someone on Saturday.
The Sentinel-Record reports that animal services director Dan Bugg had hoped the owner would turn up or someone would pay the $35 fee to adopt the animal.
Bugg told Channel 7 News that the goat was not friendly. He had the animal fenced up in a goat area and had been providing it hay and other necessities until it was to be put up for adoption on Monday.
The last time the goat was seen was around2:00 Saturday afternoon by the floor cleaners at animal services.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
