Man allegedly shoots granddaughter's boyfriend after dispute

ALTHEIMER (KATV) - A man is shot and killed after what authorities said was an argument between a 75-year-old man and his granddaughter's boyfriend.

According to a statement from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a 911 call from 75-year-old Billy Nutt around 9:40 a.m. from his home on the 13000 block of Cornerstone Road in Altheimer.

Deputies arrived to find 23-year-old Tabius Love killed from an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigators were told that Love lived with his girlfriend and her grandparents at the residence, and that Nutt and Love had argued before the shooting.

Deputies arrested Nutt with probable cause for first-degree murder.

Nutt is due in court for a probable cause and bond hearing Friday morning.
