Ground broken at new Pine Bluff rental subdivision

PINE BLUFF (KATV) - An official groundbreaking was held Wednesday on a new $10.7 million subdivision that will provide rental properties to the community.

Once completed, the Southern Crossing subdivision will be made up of homes averaging 1,300 square feet. The three- and four-bedroom homes come with two-car garages, carpeted floors, all appliances in the kitchens, a washer & dryer and rear patios.

According to Jeannie Epperson, executive director of the Pine Bluff Housing Authority,"We did a market study, was determined that rental is what we needed in Pine Bluff. It wasn't home ownership, it was rental and for that reason, that's why we embarked on the rental market."

When finished, the subdivision will have 65 homes.
