MONTICELLO, Ark. (AP) - Officials with the Delta Regional Authority and the city of Monticello have formally broken ground on a project to extend a railroad spur into the Monticello Economic Development Industrial Park.
The officials gathered in Monticello Tuesday for the groundbreaking.
The Delta Regional Authority is providing $275,000 for the project that is intended to increase access into the industrial park.
Monticello Mayor Allen Maxwell says the rehabilitation of the existing rail and extension of the spur by 330 feet into industrial park will help the city retain and attract industry into the area.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press.
