Matthew Tinkle, 25, was arrested Jan. 3 on one count of rape, according to the Heber Springs Police Department.
Police say the victim is a 14-year-old female.
Heber Springs resident Doc Weaver said the community is shocked by the news.
"It's messed up," Weaver said. "Really scary to think there's people out there doing it."
Although the Heber Springs Police Department did not release Tinkle's occupation, the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office told Channel 7 Tinkle stated he is self-employed as a tumbling coach.
A website for the business "Tink's Tumblers" in Heber Springs lists Matt "Tink" Tinkle as the owner and head coach.
According to the website, "Tink's Tumblers" has tumbling and cheer classes for children ranging from 5 to 18 years old.
"Everyone is pretty kind of freaked out about it after they heard it happened," said Heber Springs resident Max Collier.
The Heber Springs Police Department and Arkansas State Police Crimes against Children Unit are investigating.
Tinkle remained in jail as of Monday evening, according to the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office Detention Center.
His bond is set at $50,000.
