If you live in the Malvern area, and you want to help hungry families this summer, especially kids, mark your calendar for Thursday, June 27th.
The Hot Spring County Medical Center Auxiliary is asking people to drop off cereal and non-perishable food items at the hospital on that day at 10 a.m., at 1001 Schneider Drive in Malvern.
Nutritional experts say many children experience hunger during summer months, when government-supported lunch programs at schools are not available.
Because of this fact, Vickie Shuff, the Director of Volunteer Services at Hot Spring Medical Center says they're asking merchants, businesses and individuals to come by the hospital parking lot to drop off donations.
Donations will benefit Libby's Rose Food Pantry, serving the Hot Spring County area.
