Historian to talk at south Arkansas meeting

EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - A historian is slated to talk about an expedition into the Ouachita River region at an upcoming meeting of the Preservation Society of the South Arkansas Historical Foundation.

The El Dorado News-Times reports ( ) that the group's January meeting will feature Southern Arkansas University historian Trey Berry.

Berry's presentation will review an expedition that explored the Ouachita River region in the early 19th century.

The meeting is free and open to the public. It is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 7 in the Newton House in El Dorado.
