(KATV) Twinkies and Wonder Bread are one step closer to making a comeback.
A $360 million dollar bid by Flowers Foods for Wonder and most other bread brands of bankrupt hostess brands has been accepted, according to a source near the deal.
Hostess products have not been produced since the company filed for bankruptcy in November. The company was 82 years old.
Most of Hostess 18,500 employees lost their jobs. Since the company shut their doors, it has been auctioning off various brands as part of the liquidation process.
The deal will have to be approved by the bankruptcy court and regulators; therefore the exact timing of when Wonder Bread could return to shelves has yet to be determined.
