HP to repay $459K in state incentives

CONWAY (KATV) - Hewlett-Packard will repay $459,000 of the $10 million the company received from the Governor's Quick Action Closing Fund to build the call center in Conway.{}

The fund, which helps seal the deal for new business infrastructure in the state, was offered as part of an incentive package to encourage HP to make a home in Arkansas.{}

Arkansas Economic Development Commission spokesman Scott Hardin said one of the stipulations of the agreement was that HP would employ 1,000 people at the Conway center by December 2013.
