Huckabee says GOP candidate for president should work to "save every life"

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says conservatives must work to "save every life" possible during political campaigns this year and in 2016.

The former presidential candidate is considering running again for the White House. He is among several conservatives who believe the Republican Party should focus on social issues during congressional elections this year and in the next presidential election.

At an anti-abortion summit Wednesday, Huckabee said he wants Republicans to win in 2016 but not if it means compromising their values. He said if the GOP gets the abortion issue wrong, "we will get all the other issues wrong."

The Susan B. Anthony List, which supports candidates who oppose abortion, is seeking a presidential candidate who won't shy away from social issues.
