BATESVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say an Independence County jail inmate walked away from an inmate work detail twice in three days.
The sheriff's office told The Batesville Daily Guard that 25-year-old Edgar Mario Ibarra first walked away last Thursday from a recycling center where he was working. A deputy sheriff later spotted Ibarra and returned him to the county jail.
The sheriff's office says Ibarra again escaped a work detail on Saturday and was later found at a home in the Floral area. Details of the second escape were not immediately released.
Ibarra was originally arrested earlier this month on an assault complaint.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
