TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Texarkana's interim manager is going to return to her previous job after the city rehired a former manager to take over.
The Texarkana Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1gHQxmn ) that interim city manager Jessica Hyman submitted a resignation letter effective Oct. 8.
She will return to her previous post as city finance director.
Hyman took the interim city manager job to help the city get through day-to-day operations following city manager Harold Boldt's abrupt departure on March 18.
In July, the city approved a $162,000 settlement for Boldt. But this month, Boldt was rehired during a special meeting.
Mayor Wayne Smith said he wished Hyman could stay on until the contract with Boldt was finalized. Smith says he hopes that will be finished by late next month.
