Investigation continues in Arkansas jail narcotics
CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas prosecuting attorney has called on state police to take over an investigation into allegations that a top jail administrator took a prescription narcotic meant for a prisoner.
The Log Cabin Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1oFqS5M ) the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office concluded its internal investigation on Monday. The findings were forwarded to District Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland and have not been released. Hiland requested Arkansas State Police take control of the investigation.
The county announced earlier this month that Capt. Lloyd Vincent had resigned after being placed on leave. The investigation seeks to determine if Vincent had a role in a drug count discrepancy.
The county sheriff says the investigation was caused by a single incident and he has no reason to believe there were others.
