JACKSON COUNTY (KATV) - A Jackson County Sheriff's deputy has been charged with driving while intoxicated after reportedly wrecking a patrol vehicle Monday.
According to a statement from Sheriff David Lucas, around 5:30 p.m. deputies were called to State Highway 37 near Grubbs for reports of a patrol car involved in a single vehicle accident.
Sheriff Lucas said Deputy Steven McCullar drove to a residence of another deputy, where it was discovered his vehicle had sustained major damage.
Deputies determined that McCullar was heading north on Highway 37 when his patrol car left the roadway and ran over a road sign. After driving through a field, the vehicle came back on the road and continued north.
Deputies arrested McCullar and booked him on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and DWI.
