Jessieville superintendent offers resignation after arrest
JESSIEVILLE (KATV) —
The superintendent of the Jessieville School District turned in his resignation letter Saturday night after being accused of driving drunk.
In a special school board meeting, members of the board met for an hour and a half Saturday night behind closed doors to discuss the matter of Andy Curry.
After the Jessieville school board president made the announcement about Curry's resignation, the more than 150 people in attendance applauded.
Curry was arrested for DWI in Texas on Thursday. According to the police report, Curry claimed he only had two alcoholic drinks that night.
While Curry was arrested on probable cause of DWI, charges have yet to be filed.
