Joan Early

Joan Early, "Family First" reporter, is a graduate of the University of Missouri, School of Journalism.{}{}Joan has long been part of the{}KATV family.{}A former co-host of "Good Morning Arkansas," she also reported for KATV and anchored "Saturday Morning Daybreak."

A native of Bloomfield, Iowa, she began her television career at KOMU, the university-owned, NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. After graduation, she started her first reporting job at the CBS affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After just two weeks on the job, she found herself covering the devastation following the Oklahoma City bombing.In the summer of 1995, she packed her bags and left Tulsa for Little Rock. She began her work at KATV as a general assignment reporter covering everything from "Toad Suck Days" in Conway, to the school shooting in Jonesboro and president Clinton's 1996 re-election. After conducting an extensive investigation of the Little Rock Zoo, she was nominated for an Emmy in investigative reporting.In May of 1999, she married an Arkansas native. She and her husband live in Little Rock and have two children.
