Jonesboro man charged with fracturing baby's skull
JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Police in Jonesboro say a man faces a felony battery charge after a 4-month-old baby was treated for a fractured skull.
Authorities say 28-year-old Paul Martin Suchey of Jonesboro was arrested Monday night after a detective was summoned to St. Bernards Medical Center.
Police say Suchey told an investigator the baby may have hit his head on his knee while being rocked. Suchey then said the infant may have hit his head on a door frame.
The baby's mother told police that the infant had another unexplained injury about a month before when she noticed a bruise on his back.
Police say the baby is at a Memphis, Tenn., hospital and is expected to recover.
Suchey has an Oct. 31 court appearance. Bond was set at $10,000.
