      Kid Friendly Cooking: Pizza Dough & Sauce

      Kid friendlypizza sauce


      1 (15 ounce) cantomato sauce

      1 (6 ounce) cantomato paste

      2 garlic cloves,peeled

      1 tablespoondried oregano

      2 teaspoonsdried basil

      1/2 teaspoononion powder

      1/2 teaspoongranulated sugar


      In a foodprocessor or blender, combine all ingredients and pulse until smooth.

      Store in a resealable container until ready touse.


      Pizza dough

      1/4 ounce package (2 1/2 teaspoons) active dry yeast

      1 1/2 teaspoons sugar

      2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour

      1 teaspoon table salt

      1/4 cup olive oil


      In the large bowl of an electric mixer proof the yeast with 1/2 teaspoon of the sugar in 3/4 cup lukewarm water for 5 minutes, or until it isfoamy.{} Add the remaining teaspoon sugar,2 cups of the flour, the table salt, and the oil and beat the mixture with thedough hook until it is combined.{} Kneadthe dough, kneading in enough of the remaining 1 cup flour to make the doughform a ball, and knead the dough for 5 minutes, or until it is soft but notsticky.{} On a lightly floured surface letthe dough rest, covered with a kitchen towel, for 15 minutes.{} Divide dough into equal rounds.{} Roll out dough to desired thickness, makingsure to dust with flour so dough will not stick.{} Build pizza with desired toppings and bake in425 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until done.
