Last surviving WWII honor guard veteran visits Little Rock

The last surviving World War II honor guard veteran was in Arkansas Saturday.
Dr. Paul Fair is one of the original 174 man honor guard who protected Gen. Douglas MacArthur and his family during World War II.
Dr. Fair is the only member of the original honor guard to come from Arkansas and spoke at the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History about that time.
"We were sent on to Japan, landed at Yokohama and went on to Tokyo and there guarded the office building and the hotel where the MacArthurs stayed."
Dr. Fair said the event was an observance of the duty the honor guard carried out.
It would also have been the 133rd birthday of Gen. MacArthur, who was born in the home that is now the museum.
