YELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a Lead Hill man on suspicion of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Marion County man.
Sheriff Roger Vickers says officers arrested 30-year-old Joseph Saylors early Monday after a six-hour standoff. Vickers says Saylors was arrested after a SWAT team fired tear gas into Saylors' home in Lead Hill.
Authorities arrested Saylors for the Sunday death of 42-year-old Jody Rogers, who was shot once in the chest. Vickers tells The Baxter Bulletin (http://bit.ly/1bXSaeC ) that Saylors and Rogers were friends and that the shooting happened after a fistfight between the two.
Saylors is being held in the Marion County jail, and authorities did not know if he had an attorney.
