Little Rock City Directors to consider earlier club closing times

LITTLE ROCK -{} At Tuesday night's city{}board meeting, directors will consider two ordinances regulating the city's Class B Private Clubs (clubs licensed to stay open until 5 a.m.).

One ordinance would require clubs operating after 12:00 midnight to have two certified law enforcement officers present and around the exterior of the club until closing.

The other would reduce hours of operation to 7 a.m. - 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m.- 3 a.m. Friday, Saturday and the day before any officially recognized federal holiday.

Directors have been considering the measures for some time, saying later closing{}times create a safety concern.{}

Tuesday will be the first reading of the proposed ordinances.{} {}
