LITTLE ROCK (LRFW) - Hopeful models are preparing this week for auditions for the 5th Annual Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW), a weeklong of high fashion, entertainment and network events scheduled in mid-July.
The model search will be held May 4 and May 5 at the Holiday Inn Presidential Hotel, located at 600 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark., 72202 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Male and female models of all ages and sizes are welcomed. They are required to wear a plain black t-shirt with no logos and wear jeans pants. Females need to bring high heel shoes, and no make-up and accessories are allowed. Models will be deducted points for not following instructions.
Results of models selected will be posted on www.littlerockfashionweek.com/models.php by May 13. If selected, models' rehearsal is scheduled for June 2 and July 14 at Horace Mann Arts and Science Magnet School, located 1000 East Roosevelt Rd, Little Rock, Ark. 72206, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Models from all over the country are featured in top-notch fashion by emerging designers. The experience provides networking with leaders of the modeling industry, entertainment and fun. All models compete to win a modeling contract with Oneofakind Talent Inc., a cash prize, merchandise, and webpage at LittleRockFashionWeek.com. The value of prizes exceeds $1,000.
Over 400 models are expected to try out. The process will go as followed: Applications are given, measurements are taken, there's a breakdown of the process, photos are taken, models meet with the judges, a demonstration is given, and then the models show off their runway walks to judges.
When asked what the judges are looking for, Brandon D. Campbell, LRFW's founder and executive producer, says "Models who can take direction, confidence, a good walk and a positive attitude."
Models will audition in front of the following judges: Candace Barker, Little Rock Regency Beauty Institute manager; Andrea Finney, KATV 7 social media content producer; Amanda Harper, fashion blogger; Lauren Clark, multi-media journalist; Emily Brown, Tulips Boutique owner; Jaye Jenkins, Ego Boutique CEO. Enrique Fuentevilla, Arkansas En Espanol director; and Hannah Daniel, LRFW 2012 Model of the Year.
"I am looking for talent," says Daniel. "If you have the talent, you most certainly will catch my eye."
Since winning "LRFW 2012 Model of the Year" Daniel has been featured in several fashion shows, including Box Turtle's Harvestfest, Rulli Torres, and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Bridal Shows.
Riverfest, Inc. has partnered with LRFW for the third consecutive year. Models auditioning on either May 4 or May 5 will enter a drawing to receive tickets to Riverfest 2013, which is May 24-26.
The LRFW 2013 Model of the Year will be announced after LRFW 5. Models are evaluated by fashion industry experts and journalists who attend the all week extravaganza.
LRFW 5 is July 15-20, 2013. It will take place at various locations throughout downtown Little Rock.
Sponsors of LRFW 5 are Oneofakind Talent Inc., Regency Beauty Institute, Grisham Law Firm, Sync Magazine, Holiday Inn Presidential Hotel, Cornerstone Pub and Little Rock Zoo.
