Little Rock helping homeless during cold weather snap

(KATV,Source: City of Little Rock) With temperatures expected to dip into singledigits Monday night, the City of Little Rock is taking measures to protect someof the most vulnerable citizens.

"Ihave directed our homeless outreach vans to work extended hours Monday afternoonand evening," said Little Rock City Manager Bruce T. Moore. "The vanswill run routes looking for anyone who needs a ride to a shelter. Our officerswill also offer rides throughout the night to anyone who needs transportation.The City wants to ensure everyone can stay warm while temperatures are socold."{}

UnionRescue Mission and the Compassion Center have indicated they both have dozensof beds available this evening and will remain open while temperatures arebelow freezing.
