Little Rock man acquitted in 1997 murder

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - A Pulaski County jury acquitted a Little Rock man who was charged with first degree murder from 1997.

34-year-old Cedrick Simpson was found not guilty Friday in the shooting death of a grocery store assistant manager, Kevin Bearden. Bearden was killed during a robbery of the Harvest Foods store where he worked.

Simpson testified that he was not involved in the killing. Prosecutors argued that he implicated himself in the crime with his comments to investigators.
