Little Rock teen off to good start on "Jeopardy!"

Little Rock native Cooper Lair is competing on the popular TV game show "Jeopardy!" this week.

Lair, a 15-year-old sophomore at Little Rock Christian Academy, is one of the 15 teen contestants taking part in the "Jeopardy! Teen Tournament Week".

Lair won in the first round Monday and moves on to the semi-finals. The two-day final airs July 31 and August 1. The winner will receive $75,000.

Lair is the third Arkansas kid to compete on "Jeopardy!" in as many years. Leonard Cooper won the "Teen Tournament" in February of 2013. Matthew Cline, of Maumelle, won more than $40,000 during "Kids' Week" in the summer of 2012.

"Jeopardy!" airs weekdays at 2 p.m. on KATV.
