(KATV)-A Little Rock woman is being charged with first degree murder for allegedly stabbing her father. Jacklynn Murphy, 23, is being held on a $1 million dollar bond. Little Rock Police were called to 11515 W. David O. Dodd Road on Monday night because the victim's ex wife said she had not heard from him in a few days and a conversation with her daughter concerned her. "I think she had a conversation with the daughter about some problems there at the house. And the daughter indicated that she may have harmed her father and that's why she called us and we went and check and in fact she had," said Capt. Terry Hastings of the Little Rock Police Department. When police arrived, Jacklynn Murphy answered the door. Police say they observed a blood smear on the floor and saw the victim on the floor wrapped in a blanket, covered in dried blood. "We did find the gentleman deceased, he had been stabbed the daughter was there, apparently she has some mental issues," Hastings said. But police say they aren't sure why the murder happened. "Right now we do not know of a motive, that's something detectives will be working on today, trying to get all of the loose ends tied up and pulled together," Hastings said. A neighbor who wanted to remain anonymous said that Murphy would often stand outside smoking and seemed mentally unstable. He said he's not surprised to hear of the murder. The neighbor also said the victim was a very nice man, a good neighbor and will be missed.
