Live Mortar Fire Exercise at Camp Robinson Wednesday

The Arkansas National Guard is advising residents who live near Camp Robinson that they'll probably be hearing mortar fire on Wednesday, especially residents who live on the east site of the camp near Cato.

According to guard Major Chris Heathscott soldiers from around the nation will be attending training at the Arkansas National Guards' 233rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute.

The live fire exercises are expected to get underway about 9 a.m. on Wednesday, and should conclude by about 4 p.m.

According to Heathscott the sound of the artillery fire will likely carry outside Camp Robinson's perimeter.
