A Little Rock Police K-9 officer is on home quarantine after biting two people.
On Monday LRPD was told its K-9 officer, Ammo, escaped his pin at his Saline County home. The dog jumped the six-foot privacy fence, crossed the street, and bit two neighbors. At least one of the victims was transported to CHI St. Vincent's Hospital for his injuries.
Emergency personnel responded to the residence where they found the dog in his driveway. The K-9's handler was not at home at the time of the bite.
The K-9 bite is being treated as a vicious dog bite by Saline County. The K-9 officer is at home but cannot report to work for 10 days under Saline County's vicious dog ordinance.
Ammo, a Dutch Shepherd, has been with the department at least three years.
