      Malvern man sentenced to 10 years for possession of child porn

      HOT SPRINGS (KATV) - A Malvern man was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.

      Loyton Scott Francis, 31, will also serve supervised release for the rest of his life once he gets out of prison.

      United StatesAttorney Eldridge commented, "Crimes against children, including childpornography offenses, remain among the highest priorities for my office. Wewill continue to bring those involved in this despicable crime to justice."

      According todocuments filed in the case, in early 2010, the Fayetteville Police Departmentbegan investigating a computer participating in the distribution of childpornography via the software program Limewire. The IP address of the computerwas determined to be registered to Francis. OnAugust 19, 2010, Arkansas State Police served a search warrant at Francis' home and interrogated him.

      Francisconsented to a search of his computer, and child pornography images werefound on it. He admitted to viewing and possessing childpornography images on his computer.

      A total of 38 photographs and 20videos depicting child pornography were recovered from his hard drive. On March29, 2013, Francis pleaded guilty to one count of possession of childpornography.
