Man, 40, drowns while swimming in Heber Springs
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office says a man drowned while swimming in Heber Springs over Memorial Day weekend.
The sheriff's office says the incident was reported Sunday afternoon at Sandy Beach in Heber Springs.
Authorities say the victim was a 40-year-old man from Missouri, but his name hasn't been released. The sheriff's office says the man was trying to swim to shore from a boat when he disappeared from sight.
Authorities say the man was pulled from the water and treated by emergency crews at the scene. He was taken to a Heber Springs hospital where he was pronounced dead later Sunday.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
