Man Accused of Fatal Hit-and-Run in Court

CONWAY (KATV) - The man accused of a fatal hit-and-run accident in Faulkner County appeared in court for a pretrial hearing Thursday.

Michael Fowler was visibly upset when he showed up for the hearing. The judge issued an order of continuance in the case. He is scheduled to appear in court again December 10th. A trial date has not yet been set.

Fowler was reportedly intoxicated when he hit and killed Garrett Martin, 12, in Wooster. Martin was on an ATV outside his home. Police say Fowler drove away after striking the boy. They caught up with him an hour later in Conway County.

He is charged with negligent homicide, leaving the scene of a fatality accident, DWI, and reckless driving.
