SHERWOOD (KATV) - A man who was arrested during a traffic stop died later in custody.
The Sherwood Police Department released a statement saying Don Jackson was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped on Highway 67/167 on Friday.
Police said Jackson was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest.
After being booked, police said Jackson suffered from a medical emergency and was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of Jackson's death is under investigation, and his body was taken to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
