A driver lost control of his truck and it ended up in the Arkansas River in Jefferson County Tuesday night.
Deputies responded after they were alerted that a vehicle drove off the river bridge north of Pine Bluff on Highway 79 around 10 p.m.
Authorities say the truck could be seen about 150 yards downstream from the bridge. They later found the driver, Isaak Joles, soaking wet - but unharmed. Joles told police he was trying to back down the riverbank when he lost traction and the vehicle went all the way to the river.
Joles escaped from the sinking truck by busting out a window. Deputies said they will remove the truck from the river Thursday morning.
