HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A Hot Springs man has been sentenced to a year in prison for stealing five stainless steel bathtubs from the Hot Springs National Park.
Twenty-six-year-old Paul Watt was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court after pleading guilty in February to charges of theft of government property and aiding and abetting. Watt was also ordered to pay $3,500 restitution and was banned from the Hot Springs National Park.
The tubs were stolen from a park maintenance facility in May 2012. Authorities say the tubs were damaged with a torch, broken down and sold to a scrap yard for about $700.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
