FORREST CITY (Times-Herald) - State Police found four pounds of marijuana Thursday afternoon inside a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation near Forrest City.
Troopers stopped the 1995 Ford Escort driven by John Brock, 33, of Lima, Ohio, just before 1 p.m., near the 244 eastbound mile marker. The officer said he stopped Brock's vehicle because it was following too closely behind an 18-wheeler.
The trooper reportedly smelled marijuana and asked Brock if he had anything illegal in the vehicle, to which he responded that he did not. According to the report, however, when asked, Brock gave the trooper permission to search the vehicle, and inside the truck, the officer found a box containing the marijuana.
Brock was transported to the St. Francis County Jail on drug-related charges.
