The Mayflower School Board is considering a new policy on drug testing teachers.
Currently, the school district only gives drug tests to employees with commercial driver's licenses.
The new policy would include all employees and take place in three different phases: pre-employments, random drug tests, and reasonable suspicious tests. This new proposed protocol is based off of the Little Rock School District's policy.
Superintendent John Gray said so far the Mayflower District has not had any trouble with teachers, but that the district wants to be proactive. The school board is scheduled to discuss the new drug testing policy at Monday's meeting.
