TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - More than $662,000 has been awarded in state grants to nonprofit organizations and governmental entities in southwest Arkansas.
The groups gathered Friday at the Miller County courthouse as the grants were awarded to various counties, cities and nonprofit agencies. The Texarkana Gazette reports that Miller County was the largest recipient of county grants, receiving about $220,000.
The county plans to use one of its grants for a new roof at the juvenile detention center.
