HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of a Helena-West Helena police officer and two brothers who were all wounded in a shooting in the eastern Arkansas city.
Arkansas State Police say Officer Matthew Jarrett and brothers David Randle and Charlie Randle were wounded in the Thursday afternoon shooting when Jarrett and other officers went to a home in the city to serve a search warrant as part of what Police Chief Uless Wallace says was a drug investigation.
State police say Jarrett is hospitalized in stable condition, David Randle was treated and released while Charlie Randle is hospitalized in Memphis in critical condition.
State police are investigating the shooting and say their results will be given to the Phillips County prosecutor to determine whether charges will be filed in the case.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press.
