National parks hit by Sequestration

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK (KATV) - If you plan to visit a national park this summer, you may be in for a long wait in your car at the entrance gate.

Many national parks are already seeing longer lines, fewer guided tours, locked restrooms and overflowing trash cans since the forced federal budget cuts known as "sequestration" shaved $183 million from the National Park Service.

In Arkansas, Hot Springs National Park has reduced visitor center hours and cut back on maintenance of the park's 26 miles of trails.
