NCAA Bracket vs. Powerball: Which are you more likely to win?
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - The madness of March is officially here along with that $260 million jackpot. The NCAA bracket and the Powerball go head-to-head. So which are you more likely to win?
"I think it's more likely that someone would win March Madness," said C. J. Duvall.
Everyone likes to win, especially when cash is involved. So we asked you where are you most likely to put your money?
"Games of chance with money aren't favorable," said Phillip Duvall.
Some of you were positive brackets were the way to go.
"You still have a better chance of doing that than the Powerball just guessing numbers," said Phillip Davis.
"I think you're definitely more likely to win March Madness," said Stephanie Ward.
While others couldn't imagine why anybody would take that chance.
"The Powerball you can never bet on one certain team anybody can get any burst of energy at the end of any game," Jordan Murdock.
So if you still don't know if you should put your money in the NCAA tourney or the Powerball here's why brackets would be your best bet.
"There are strategies to picking winners and losers," said Greg Hamilton, Senior Economist at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
"The least likely to pick the winner is the Powerball than to pick the winning team," said Hamilton.
But aside from skill and luck the most important thing to win big is to put your money where your mouth is, a risk some would rather not take.
The odds of having a perfect bracket this year is a staggering 1 in 9.2 quintillion. Which means if everyone in country played we'd see a perfect score just once every 400 years.
