Arrest warrant issued for doctor who allegedly took nude photos of patient during exam
A Northeast Arkansas OBGYN is facing five counts of video voyeurism, after allegedly taking nude photographs of a female patient during a medical examination without her knowledge, consent or approval.
Scott Ellington, Prosecuting Attorney for the Second Judicial District, announced today that he authorized the Arkansas State Police to seek an arrest warrant for Dr. Paul Becton, Jr, age 68, of Paragould, Arkansas. The warrant charges Becton with five counts of video voyeurism, which is a class D felony.
Ellington says the patient became suspicious after the examination that she may have been photographed and reported her concern to the Paragould Police Department. Paragould police requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police, which took over the investigation and executed a search warrant and found evidence corroborating the patient's complaint.
Becton specializes in obstetrics and gynecology and maintains a private OBGYN practice in Paragould, the Becton Women's Clinic. The prosecutor said the hospital where Becton practices and the Arkansas Medical Board have both been notified of the allegations.
In addition, Ellington said that the doctor has not seen any patients this week.
