New ad targets Pryor over judicial nominations

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A conservative group is airing a television ad criticizing Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor for supporting President Barack Obama's judicial picks, the latest organization to wade into the air war surrounding Pryor's re-election bid next year.

{}The Judicial Crisis Network on Friday said it would begin airing the ad over the two weeks in the Little Rock area. A consultant for the Washington-based group said it purchased about $95,000 worth of air time to begin running the spot Saturday.

{}The spot criticizes Pryor for supporting the president's judicial nominees, calling them liberal activist judges. Pryor's campaign dismissed the ad as a false attack.

{}Pryor was first elected in 2002 is running for re-election against Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton.
