New Leaf Despite New Complaint?
LITTLE ROCK (KATV) -More than six months after pledging to do better...how is a conway county business owner doing? The Arkansas Better Business Bureau has reissued an alert about the company. It has 82 complaints over the past three years. But the owner of the company says he is working to change that. Back in October we went to Morrilton to ask Jerry Collins about all the complaints against his business. "Sometimes our efforts aren't good enough and we don't get them out there enough and that is where some of the complaints are going to come in," Collins told us back in October. Collins operates NuCold Refrigeration. He rehabs air conditioning units for recreational vehicles and ships them all over the country. He promised in October to work harder resolving or at least addressing complaints. "It appears that he is doing better in resolving the complaints," says Sarah Tacker, a Senior Assistant Attorney General. "For example, he had 42 complaints in the last 12 months but only 13 in the last six months." Tacker says one of the new complaints was filed by Bill McLaughlin of Dayton, Ohio who paid Collins $425.00 back in October and has yet to receive the cooling unit for his 38 foot RV. "He's been very rude every time I've talked to him," McLaughlin told us in a telephone interview. "He's always giving different excuses. And when you ask him about the last excuse that he gives you its never the same as the first one. There's always a new excuse." Collins heard from both the Attorney General's office and our Seven-On-Your-Side office today about McLaughlin's complaint. He says he thought the money had already been refunded and says he put a refund check in the mail to Ohio today. Air date: May 28th, 2014
